The Sea Island Yacht Club offers sport fishing and nature tours of all kinds. A fleet of eight custom boats was designed for fishing and touring the Georgia coast and a beautifully restored vintage yacht cruises the local waterways.
Nature Tours: These trips are offered by one of our four staff naturalists and customized for groups. The trips will take you through our tidal marshes to see numerous shore birds, dolphins, and aquatic species. You will also learn the rich natural history of our salt marshes.
Kids’ Nature Tours: This is the same trip as above, but with content and stories children will relish.
In shore Fishing: Cruise through the marshes in search of trout, redfish, flounder, and whiting. Whether fly fishing from our shallow water flat boats in search of the tailing redfish or traveling a creek for a big school of speckled trout, we can accommodate you.
Near shore Fishing: We can boast about some of the best fishing on the east coast. You will fish the beaches from Cumberland Island to Sapalo Island in search of tarpon, shark, bull redfish, or tripletail. The species depends on the time of the year. These trips offer a wonderful view of our beautiful coastline.
Off shore Fishing: These trips offer bottom fishing over an artificial reef. You can also live-bait fish for mackerel, cobia, barracuda, and sailfish.
Kids’ Trips: We offer a two-hour fishing trip perfect for introducing kids to the fun of sport fishing. This trip caters to children in every way. The boats have high sides; the captains teach, bait hooks, cast, and do everything needed to ensure a great time on the water for your children.
Fishing and Crabbing: Rental equipment is available to fish and crab off of the dock. A dock hand will help you get started. Common catches include blue crab, whiting, spot, croaker, trout, puppy shark and yellow tails.
Vintage Yacht Cruises on Cloister Belle: Climb aboard Cloister Belle for scenic, leisurely ways to explore our local island waterways. Regularly scheduled cruises offer spectacular sunsets across the golden marshes. Indulge in that sense of timelessness only a lovingly restored classic vintage yacht can convey. Also available for private charter.
