Some of the Best Fishing on the East Coast

The area around Sea Island boasts some of the finest fishing on the East Coast. Sea Island encompasses inshore, near-shore, and offshore fishing opportunities, offering guests an exciting range of experiences. Fishing trips can be tailored for children, and off-the-dock fishing and crabbing opportunities are also available.

After a day of fishing, bring your catch back to the resort and our chef's will prepare a custom meal to crown your efforts, including optional wine pairings and courses.

Inshore Fishing:

Cruise through the marshes in search of trout, redfish, flounder, and whiting. Whether fly fishing from Sea Island's shallow water flat boats in search of the tailing redfish or traveling a creek for a big school of speckled trout, guests will love this experience.

Near-Shore Fishing:

Fish the beaches from Cumberland Island to Sapelo Island for tarpon, shark, bull redfish, or tripletail. These trips also offer a wonderful view of the beautiful coastline.

Offshore Fishing:

Enjoy bottom fishing over an artificial reef. Guests can also live-bait fish for mackerel, cobia, barracuda, and sailfish.

Kids' Trips:

Sea Island offers a two-hour fishing trip perfect for introducing kids to sport fishing. The boats have high sides while the captains teach, bait hooks, cast, and do everything needed to ensure children a great time on the water.

Fishing and Crabbing:

Rental equipment is available to fish and crab off of the dock. A dock hand is available during the summer. Common catches include blue crab, whiting, croaker, trout, puppy shark, and yellow tails.
