Featuring the award-winning shrimp and grits, The Oak Room offers a broad range of southern favorites with signature dishes to satisfy all tastes. About the Chef

Chef Phillip Jackson



Phillip JacksonInspiration for becoming a chef: Not known for being the best architect, so Chef Phillip prefers to use his artistic skills with delicious food and ceramics. “The joy of witnessing smiles after a great meal is truly satisfying”, says Jackson.

Career Highlights: Jackson begin his career at Sea Island in 2006. He served on the opening team of the new Beach Club in 2007 before moving to Houston, Texas in 2008 as Chef de Partie at Renaissance Hotel. He then returned to Sea Island in 2010 to join The Lodge team. Jackson was recently awarded the 2015 Stevan Porter Emerging Hospitality Leader of the Year Award presented by Georgia Hotel and Lodging Association.

Fun Fact: If not a Chef, Jackson would be in the world of politics, running for a state representative chair!
