Simon Jacot de Boinod, Founder, Forum, Event Curator

Simon founded Forum in London in 2010. Forum is a private members business club that started with the formalisation of his own business network.

The membership comprises the senior echelons of the financial community, business owners and principals & owners of family offices. Simon acts as a ‘facilitator’ introducing members to each other so that relationships may develop and business get written. The introduction strategy is underpinned by a full and varied social calendar of some forty events per annum, both business and social. Forum has recently launched a chapter in New York City, and in May is launching a South East Asian chapter in Singapore.

Prior to Forum, Simon has created and sold a number of UK businesses, mostly within the marketing and event sectors.

Professor Henry William Brands, Author of Reagan: The Life

Professor Henry William Brands was born in Oregon, went to college in California and earned graduate degrees in mathematics and history in Oregon and Texas.

He taught at Vanderbilt University and Texas A&M University before joining the faculty at the University of Texas at Austin, where he holds the Jack S. Blanton Sr. Chair in History. He teaches history and writing to graduate students and undergraduates.

He writes on American history and politics. His most recently published book is the much-acclaimed biography of Ronald Reagan, Reagan: The Life. Further books and biographies include: “The Man Who Saved the Union [Ulysses Grant]; Traitor to His Class [FDR]; Andrew Jackson; The Age of Gold; The First American” [Benjamin Franklin] and TR. Several of his books have been bestsellers; two, Traitor to His Class and The First American, were finalists for the Pulitzer Prize.

He lectures frequently on historical and current events and can be seen and heard on national and international television and radio. For the past three years he has been writing a history of the United States in haiku form and publishing it on Twitter. He guesses he will be at it for two more years.

Dr. Mark Haynes Daniell, Chairman, Raffles Family Wealth Trust Pte

Raffles Family Wealth Trust Pte Ltd is a Singapore-based boutique advisory and investment firm.

Mark is also an independent director of Olam International, Sacovenplc (Chairman), Tariyaki Agro, and Aquarius Investment Management Pte Ltd. (Vice Chairman). He is a former senior partner at Bain & Company, Director at Wasserstein Perella and President of k1 Ventures, a strategic investment company publicly listed in Singapore.

Mark has written or co-authored seven books, with his most recent publication entitled Family Wealth Management: Seven Imperatives for Successful Investment in the New World Order. Previous books have included World of Risk: A New Approach to Global Strategy and Leadership. Mark is a graduate of the Harvard Law School, Oxford University (University College), Amherst College and the Phillips Exeter Academy.

He also has earned diplomas from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and the Sorbonne-Université de Paris IV.

Dr. Pippa Malmgren, President, DRPM Group, Former Economic Advisor to the White House

Pippa helps companies, investors and policymakers better understand how risk and prices will move across the economic landscape.

The clients of DRPM Group include many investment banks, fund managers and hedge funds as well as Sovereign Wealth Funds, pension funds, global corporations and family offices. Pippa is a former economic advisor to the White House, serving George W. Bush. She was the Deputy Head of Global Strategy at UBS and the Chief Currency Strategist for Bankers Trust. She headed the Global Investment Management business for Bankers Trust in Asia. In 2000 Pippa was named by The World Economic Forum as a “Global Leader for Tomorrow.”

Dr. Adrian Wooldridge, Management Editor & Schumpeter Columnist, The Economist

Adrian Wooldridge is The Economist’s Management Editor and writes the Schumpeter column.

He was previously based in Washington, DC, as the Washington Bureau Chief where he also wrote the Lexington column. He covers politics, social policy, and social and political events. Previously he has been The Economist’s West Coast Correspondent, Management Correspondent and Britain Correspondent. He is the co-author of The Company: A Short History of a Revolutionary Idea, A Future Perfect: The Challenge and Hidden Promise of Globalisation, Witch Doctors, a critical examination of management theory and The Right Nation, a study of conservatism in America, and God is Back: How the Global Rise of Faith is Changing the World.
