Accolades such as twice being named the #1 Hotel in the country by U.S. News & World Report and receiving the Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond awards year after year say a lot about what you can expect when you stay with us. Rather than resting on those laurels, we have some great plans to enhance The Lodge experience and want to share them with you.
What is being done and where?
We are adding:
How will the cottages be configured?
Five of the cottages will each have two bedrooms and a parlor, and one will have four bedrooms and a parlor, for a total of 14 new sleeping rooms.
What’s included in The Lodge Pool House?
It will offer food and beverage service, double fireplaces, a wrap-around porch, indoor and outdoor event space, and will serve as the halfway house for Plantation once the project is complete.
When is this happening?
Enhancements are currently underway. The Driftwood Course, an 18-hole putting course, is now open. The Lodge Cottages, Pool, and Pool House will be complete in time for the 2018 RSM Classic in November. The new GPC will open in early 2019.
As a guest, what will I see and how could this affect my visit?
The pool and cottage projects will be screened. All Lodge and golf facilities will remain open as usual while work is underway, so staying overnight, playing golf, and dining will not be affected. The tee box for Plantation #10 has been relocated and redesigned as a short Par 4. For putting practice, you will use the putting greens at either the Golf Performance Center or Seaside #1.
There will be times when some sounds will be heard during the day. Work will not be done at night, so no one’s rest will be disturbed. Some aspects of the new cottages are being assembled off site, to minimize disruption.
Will the bagpiper continue to play during the enhancements?
The bagpiper will play each evening as usual.
Enhancements include six new cottages, an oceanfront pool and pool house, a putting course, and a new state-of-the-art 17,000 square foot Golf Performance Center.
