Cottage 912 is conveniently located just a short walk from the Cloister Hotel, Sea Island Beach Club, and all the resort amenities, but situated in a quiet and exclusive enclave. Passing through a manicured garden-like setting, you enter a gated courtyard and pass down a paved pathway to a massive oak door flanked by leaded-glass sidelights.
Upon entering the spacious cottage the open floor plan features a 2-story atrium-like living area with clerestory windows that allow in plenty of natural light. The living area features a beamed ceiling which complements the neutral color scheme with colorful ocean blue accents provided by throw pillows and print draperies. The plush seating is centered on a masonry fireplace with alcoves on either side holding both a small desk as well as a flat screen television. Wall sconces provide subtle and strategic illumination.
This impeccably furnished room is open to the dining area where the dining table offers seating for 8 beneath a lacy wrought iron shaded chandelier. Close by is the well-equipped kitchen, with granite countertops and Viking appliances – including a 6-burner gas range and every gourmet convenience. Upholstered barstools at the central island provide additional seating.
A short hallway leads to the master bedroom, a sanctuary with a 4-poster king bed and dual wingback chairs for relaxing in a spacious sitting area. From the master there is direct access to the pool and courtyard. The fireplace is surmounted by a television for comfortable late-night viewing. The enormous master bath boasts marble floors, double sinks, a glass enclosed shower as well as a separate soaking tub. A room length mirror and beautiful cabinetry complete the room. The frequent use of arched doorways adds an additional touch of elegance reminiscent of the Cloister’s iconic architecture.
A second ground floor bedroom also offers a 4-poster king bed as well as private bath. Sun-filled windows keep the room bright and airy.
Two additional bedrooms, separated by an open landing which overlooks the living area below, await upstairs, each with private bath. One features an iron king bed and fireplace while the other offers 2 queen beds.
Just outside the living area, a large screened porch with brick flooring underfoot provides the ideal setting for a gas grill and a round tiled top table with seating for eight. Perfect for informal meals or morning coffee, there is also convenient sink and prep area close by. The beautiful pool is situated in a private walled courtyard with opportunities for sunbathing, relaxing, or even a quick nap.
