Camp Cloister is a specific place at Sea Island, but it also refers to the broader range of children's activities that are available. Since the 1960's, Junior Staff have upheld the "Camp Cloister spirit," inspiring creativity, exploration, and laughter with activities that are as enriching as they are plentiful. Professionally planned and supervised age-appropriate children's activities are the highlight of a Sea Island family vacation.
During the summer, spring break, and holidays, Junior Staff devote full attention to imaginative, interactive activities while parents enjoy Sea Island's other amenities. This special team of college students is carefully selected for their leadership skills and enthusiasm to serve as role models for young guests.
Camp Cloister (Ages 3-14)
Join the Junior Staff and the Nature Team for adventures, nature discoveries, games, crafts, and other outdoor activities. Children must be at least three years old and fully potty trained to participate. Year-round, Monday-Saturday at The Beach Club.
Sea Island Junior Naturalist (Ages 7-14)
Join a naturalist Monday - Friday for a hands-on, one-of-a-kind experience and learn about the many ecosystems and wildlife on Sea Island.
Under the Sea Workshop (Ages 3 and up)
Build a stuffed friend and take a Sea Island cuddle home with you. Tuesday and Friday.
Cookie Cutters (Ages 3-12)
A Sea Island Saturday afternoon favorite - Create, bake, and decorate cookies; program includes creative food crafts while the cookies bake and personalized chef’s hats.
Kids' Night Out (Ages 3-12)
Kids need a night out once in a while! Kids’ Night Out is an exciting experience for our younger guests. Under the care of Junior Staff, children enjoy dinner a fun evening of games, crafts, dinner and a movie. Meanwhile, parents can explore Sea Island’s many restaurants and evening activities.
Kids' Night Out varies seasonally and during holidays; check This Week at Sea Island for days and times. Reservations are required by 5:00 p.m. the day prior, call 912-638-5111. Children must be at least three years old and fully potty trained to participate.
Tie-Dye (For all ages)
Make a fashion statement with the ultimate take-home souvenir! Create a personalized t-shirt design with the Junior Staff Wednesday afternoon.
Survival Skills (Ages 9-14)
Kids’ skills are put to the test during Survival Skills with a variety of outdoor survival tasks at Sea Island's Shooting School. Thursday and Saturday night.
Movie Matinee (For all ages)
Offers family friendly movies at the Beach Club Movie Theater. Complimentary. Concessions sold separately. Movie schedules vary seasonally. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
Air Rifle Bull's-Eye Hour (Ages 6-12)
A blast every afternoon (except Sunday) at the Shooting School. This popular activity for children ages 5-12 stresses gun safety and shooting instruction.
Junior Golf and Tennis Clinics
Learn club sport skills and good sportsmanship.
Jensen Brothers Tennis Academy
Academy focus is on developing motor skills, movement, and introduction to the lifelong game of tennis!
Archery (Ages 8-15)A one-hour class full of learning the safety, technique and fun of archery.
Tiny Tykes Stables Tour and Ride (Ages 3-6)
Our youngest riders enjoy hands on learning experiences as they meet, greet and ride stable horses. Parents are encouraged to join in. Reservations required.
Fish Dissection and Dock Fishing (For all ages)
Hands on fishing experience. The naturalist will dissect a commonly caught and released fish and spend time fishing off the dock while learning about common species in the Black Banks River.
Learn to Bike (For all ages)
30 minute bicycle lessons available by request.
ABC's of Manners (Ages 8-12)
Join Mrs. Jennifer Wall as she prepares children for everyday etiquitte such as dining manners and a proper introduction.
Make a Face (Children's Facial)
Being a kid is hard work - it deserves a reward all its own. This gentle treatment for smaller faces is just the thing after a long day of play. (35/45 minutes)
Petite Head, Hands and Feet
Give it a rest - the arms, legs, head, and feet that is. Introduction massage for the busiest of bodies.(45 minutes)
Duets (private Suite with Parent)
Parent and Child or Friends! Enjoy time together. Meals and Snacks can be ordered from our “Feel Good” in-room dining menu for an additional cost. (45 mintues)
