A Mighty Fine Tradition
High ceilings, chandeliers, and antique artwork. Warm finishes, oversized leather chairs, and a massive stone fireplace. A full bar and delicious lunch, along with shoe-shine services, a cigar room, steam room, and 240 oak lockers. Welcome to the Robert Davis Jr. Locker Room, named in honor of Robert “Mighty Fine” Davis, Jr., a beloved Sea Island team member who spent 66 years making members and guests feel at home. Known for his warmth, graciousness, and signature response that everything was always “mighty fine,” Robert embodied the kind of hospitality that has long defined this special place. Considered by many PGA Tour professionals to be “the greatest locker room in golf,” its elegant surroundings certainly impress but it’s the dedicated staff who cater to your every need and make you feel like family that make it so welcoming. Playing golf isn’t even required—you’re always welcome at this gentleman’s hideaway. Sea Island’s best-kept secret is actually no secret at all.
Dress code:
Before 5 p.m., casual or fitness attire is acceptable. Tank tops, swim attire, and gentlemen’s hats are not permitted.
After 5 p.m., a collared shirt and closed-toe shoes are required for gentlemen. Well-kept denim and Bermuda shorts are acceptable. Sweaters, including hooded ones, may be worn over a collared shirt. Tank tops, sweatshirts, swim or fitness attire, and gentlemen’s hats are not permitted.

Get In on the Secret
Considered by many PGA touring pros as “the greatest locker room in golf,” the Men’s Locker Room is the perfect gentlemen’s hideaway. Tasty bites, a full bar, a cigar room—plus all the amenities a man needs before or after a round. We’d say it’s our best-kept secret, except you’ll love telling everyone about it.
The Lodge Barbershop
Off the course and off to dinner? The barbershop at The Lodge takes a traditional approach to barbering. Services include men’s cuts, shears-only cuts, hot towel shaves, line-ups, beard trims, men’s facials, men’s full tune-ups, and complete treatments.
Open Tuesday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call (912) 291-CUTS for reservations. Walk-ups welcome.

For 66 years, Robert Davis, Jr. was the heart of the Men’s Locker Room. He was Sea Island’s longest-serving team member.
A force of kindness and connection, Robert transformed the lives of countless members, guests, and team members alike. His warmth extended far beyond his role, leaving a lasting imprint on generations who had the privilege to know him.
Known for his signature response to any question, everything was always “mighty fine” regardless of the circumstances. Thus, Robert earned a nickname that perfectly reflected his unwavering positivity and grace.
The Lodge at Sea Island
