Adopt-a-Nest Group Package

By donating $3,000 or more to Sea Island’s Sea Turtle Adopt-a-Nest program your group will be contributing to the conservation of coastal Georgia’s threatened loggerhead sea turtle population. 100% of the donations to this project go directly to the Wildlife Conservation Fund within the Georgia Department of Natural Resources which relies solely on federal grants and donations to operate. Donations to the Adopt-a-Nest project are fully tax deductible.

Typically, the Sea Island nature team locates approximately 100 nests each season. Your group’s donation will be a symbolic adoption supporting all the nests that will be laid during the 2025 season which is expected to be one of the most active summers of sea turtle nesting to date.

Your group will receive sea turtle nesting season updates throughout the summer along with photo and video updates directly from the nature team when nesting and hatching season begins on the beach. Your group will also have the option to request a Sea Island naturalist speak at an event of your choice on Sea Island for 10-15 minutes where we will present your adoption package and provide season updates. Please be aware that presentation times are subject to availability.

Along with nesting season updates, your group will receive a sea turtle nest adoption package that includes a framed certificate of adoption, a plush turtle, a Sea Island Adopt-a-Nest decal, an Adopt-a-Nest magnet, and a letter of adoption from the Sea Island nature team.
