Elite Junior Golf Camp

Golf Performance Center

Train like a top touring professional with instruction from Jared Zak and Ryan Smith along with several other specialists. This camp is for the motivated junior player looking to develop a personalized plan for improvement and learn to practice and play golf more efficiently. In this comprehensive camp, we will focus on long game, short game, mental game, and golf fitness with an emphasis of course management and tournament preparation. This is a golf intense weeklong program that is structured to prepare juniors for competing successfully at a national level. We cordially invite you to join us for a memorable experience. This program is designed for players ages 12-18 that have a handicap of 10 or less.

Daily Schedule:

  • 9 a.m.–12 p.m. Instruction
  • 12–1 p.m. Lunch with the Instructors
  • 1–5 p.m. Practice and/or Instruction

Eligibility: Age 12–18/handicap 10 or less

Jared Zak, a PGA Professional since 2000, began teaching at Sea Island in 1999. Zak has taught in golf schools under the direction of Bob Toski, Mac O’Grady, Butch Harmon, and Ben Doyle. He has also trained under the expert direction of renowned professionals Jack Lumpkin, Todd Anderson, and Scott Davenport. Named one of the top 20 instructors under the age of 40 by Golf Digest, Zak also was named by Golf Digest as one of the top 10 instructors in Georgia. His teaching has helped develop top-ranking junior and collegiate players who have gone on to compete at the next level. Zak enjoys working with players who are focused on improving their game and lowering their scores.

Ryan’s teaching career began in Greensboro, North Carolina, in 2014, where he refined his teaching skills under the guidance of PGA Hall of Fame Teacher Rick Murphy. His passion for player development led him to seek knowledge and expertise in coaching and human performance from experts across the world, including PGA Tour coaches, fitness professionals, and Ph.D.s. Ryan holds numerous certifications in teaching and coaching, motor learning, and biomechanics, specializing in developing golfers of all skill levels, with a particular focus on elite junior and college athletes. His dedication and expertise in golf instruction earned him the honor of being the keynote speaker at the 2023 CPGA Teaching Summit, and he was named by Golf Digest as one of the ‘Best Young Teachers in America’ in 2021-22 and again in 2023-24. He was ranked #14 in the 2022-23 ‘Best Teachers in South Carolina.’ In 2016, 2017, and 2018, Ryan was selected as a Top 50 Master Teacher by the U.S. Kids Golf Foundation for his exemplary work and dedication to the growth and development of youth golf.

Enjoy the beauty and tradition of legendary Scottish Links. A beautiful ocean-side course with sweeping dunes mixed with native grasses and wildflowers. A challenging and fun course, where you’re often at the mercy of the wind. Located at the Sea Island Golf Club on Retreat Avenue.

Plantation Golf Course

A historic course that was re-designed to bring back some traditional features and character. Along with the neighboring Seaside Course, it is the home of the PGA TOUR’s RSM Classic, a FedEx cup event hosted by Davis Love. Located at the Sea Island Golf Club on Retreat Avenue.
