  • bride and groom walking down the aisle after getting married

Brendan & Jules

What was your favorite memory from your Sea Island Wedding?
It’s a tie between two. First, we would say it was just seeing the entire ceremony and reception in all its beauty. After nine months of planning, to see it come to life, is truly indescribable. We both cried. It was better than we could have ever imagined. Just breathtaking!

Second, we would say it was having all our favorite people surround us on the dance floor and on stage at the reception. To look in the crowd and see the faces of our most special people who were there to support us, laughing and celebrating with us, we don’t know if there is any better feeling. From our first dance as husband and wife, just the two of us, to the last dance of the night and the confetti canon bursting, surrounded by all of our family and friends, everything was perfect! We wished the night would never end.

How did you hear about Sea Island?
Both of us had visited Sea Island with our families on vacation when we were younger. I found the wedding inspiration via Pinterest under the most beautiful wedding pictures I’d ever seen. As a kid with his cousins, Sea Island was Brendan’s favorite vacation spot. He said he has memories of staying in the room at the Beach Club right about where our reception took place.

If you grew up coming here, what is your favorite past Sea Island memory?
Brendan’s favorite childhood memory was exploring the property with his cousin Ben. Ben was from Minnesota and went one year with him. Brendan said they used to love riding their bikes around and just looking at the houses and spending hours at the Beach Club pool.

What was the inspiration for your décor/theme of your wedding?
I knew I wanted most everything at the wedding to be neutral colors. I wanted it to be very soft and timeless, but also have a modern twist. The incredible design team at Sea Island helped do just that. The overall ambiance was soft with whites, ivories, nudes, blush colors, but then we added in gold accents with pendant lights, table cloths and greenery with boxwood bars and hanging accents. It felt like the perfect blend. I know it’s a design I will look back on in 50 years and still love.

After the wedding was over, were you pleased with the details? How would you describe your experience at Sea Island?
Every detail was perfection. Nothing was left to chance. The design teams thought of things that would never have occurred to me. They listened, took lots of notes, looked at the pictures I brought in, got a total feel for what I was trying to convey, and then created magic beyond my wildest dreams. Took my breath away!
