Sarah & Edward

What was your favorite memory from your Sea Island Wedding?
We have so many favorite moments from the wedding day! One memory that will always remain special to me was our departure. Eddie and I were lead out to the front of the hotel where our friends and family were waiting to wave goodbye, and as we hopped into our vintage getaway car sparklers erupted from the ground. The departure gave us our very own Hollywood, happily ever after, moment, and one our guests will never forget. Eddie and I left with full hearts and drove away taking in all the magic that was our wedding day.

How did you hear about Sea Island?
I have a bit of a personal connection with Sea Island. My Mother, Ella Stimpson is the Spa Director at the resort. Eddie and I had the pleasure of visiting Sea Island for the first time on NYE 2014. We had the most magical time dancing and ringing in the New Year in the resorts Clubroom. We were absolutely blown away by the beautiful setting, and impeccable service! Little did we know, two years later we would be celebrating our wedding and saying “I do” in the very same spot!

What was the inspiration for your décor/theme of your wedding?
We wanted the overall tone and theme of our wedding to be timeless and romantic! Since our wedding was in the fall and Sea Island is filled with such natural vibrancy, we chose to incorporate pops of Raspberry, Merlot, and Dusty Rose to accent the venue’s lush pallet. We paired our colors with gold, acrylic and white marble accents. I wanted fruit to play a role in the décor of our wedding as well, so we chose to top our table centerpieces and wedding cake with figs, grapes, and plums! Overall our goal was to create a sophisticated, yet relaxed atmosphere for our guests to enjoy themselves.

After the wedding was over, were you pleased with the details? How would you describe your experience at Sea Island?
Our Saturday wedding turned out even more beautiful than I could’ve ever imagined. Every detail was executed seamlessly! Talk about five-star service! Despite the uncertainty, Eddie and I were able to enjoy our day and the special time with our family and friends because of your heavy lifting, and for that, we are truly thankful. We look forward to visiting soon, and are so happy to be a part of this wonderful Sea Island family.
