Sea Island

A Better Tomorrow

Here on Sea Island we are surrounded by some of Earth’s most magnificent wildlife and natural places. From vast salt marshlands to lush green forests and rolling sand dunes, there is so much worth celebrating and protecting. While Georgia’s coast may span only one hundred miles, it is home to many species that venture across the globe to forage and nest in this unique place we call home. The Sea Island Nature team’s mission is to help protect this natural environment through education and wildlife conservation efforts in the hopes that this treasure will be cherished for generations to come.

Education Initiatives

The team of naturalists at Sea Island is devoted to educating guests of all ages about the natural wonders of the Georgia Coast. Guests from far and near may visit the Sea Island Nature Center to discover the many species that inhabit the island and learn more about ways they can help protect coastal ecosystems. Through naturalist guided tours and programs, guests have the opportunity to explore maritime forest trails, venture out into the salt marsh wetlands, witness shorebirds migrating from the arctic tundra, or even encounter a loggerhead sea turtle hatchling on its journey to the ocean.
