Discover The Cloister, a Forbes Five-Star accommodation. You can’t help but see how beautiful it is. But it’s the little things that will captivate you. How the light comes into your room just so when the sun is setting. The birds chirping cheerfully as you walk by the solarium. A game of checkers in the lobby. Tea and cookies in the afternoon. You’ll feel right at home. Because this is a place where staff feels more like family. Where fun and adventure wait at every turn.
Warm & Inviting.

An Amazing Location.
The Cloister is vibrant and full of life. You’re surrounded by activity, steps away from wherever your day will take you. Out on the water, strolling the beach, or at the Spa.
Dining at The Cloister
The only Forbes Five-Star restaurant in Georgia is also one of its friendliest. And local artisanal partnerships help us bring the finest ingredients to your table. A culinary highlight.
An authentic, rustic Italian eatery with a river view. Where the pasta’s homemade and the prosciutto is house-cured. Watch the chef toss dough through the air at the open pizza kitchen.
You didn’t order panoramic views of the Black Banks River, but there they are. This classic brasserie serves up delightful dishes in a relaxed inviting atmosphere.
Sea Island Beach Club
A taste of Georgia’s coastal cuisine on the stunning coast overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Lobster tacos, oyster chowder, and Cajun shrimp and grits. Fresh seafood meets local charm.
The Cloister Wine Cellar
An exposed-brick staircase carries guests through candlelight to the intimate, bottle-lined chamber to a very private multi-course meal. The room features a heart pine wooden ceiling created from a mid-1800s South Carolina sawmill and limestone from North Georgia. Dine on a handmade English oak estate table adjacent to ironwork imported from England and France. Sip from Sea Island’s impressive award-winning wine collection—more than 1,000 labels of old and new world vintages.
