Join Harris English in the gym with Tom Hemmings, Senior Golf Fitness Specialist at the Sea Island Golf Performance Center, as he takes us through his workout to optimize his performance and prepare for life on the PGA TOUR.

Fit for the Course

Our team of fitness professionals provide custom training programs specific to a golfer’s needs, using their years of experience and industry-leading technology. With a performance assessment, any limitations are identified and ensure the golfer is able to move effectively when working with a swing instructor. This piece of the puzzle is often overlooked, yet is a vital part in improving your movement patterns, golf swing, power, strength and stamina on the golf course.

Learn more Randy Myers joined Sea Island Resorts as Director of Fitness in 2005, having previously served as Director of Fitness and Personal Training at PGA National Resort & Spa since 1992. Myers' Masters thesis topic, "A strength training and flexibility program for recreational golfers," helped establish the standards for golf exercise conditioning. His articles have been featured in Sports Illustrated, Golf Digest, and on and authored Fit for Life Fit for Golf. He works closely with twelve PGA TOUR players as well as many college golf teams such as Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, East Carolina, and South Florida. Myers' students have won more than 100 tournaments on Nationwide, LPGA, and PGA Tour. Learn more Tom Hemmings joined Sea Island in 2015 as an exercise specialist after completing his Masters Degree in Kinesiology. Tom's experience with a variety of professional athletes has allowed him to customize his scientific approach when training golfers of all levels. Tom collaborates with our top instructors to ensure the exercise program focuses on areas that will enhance golf performance. He utilizes corrective exercise techniques, as well as strength and conditioning elements to ensure that all areas of fitness are considered when developing a periodized plan for each individual.
