The 2026 Women’s Elite Amateur Golf Series begins at Sea Island Golf Club, May 27-30, 2026, with the Sea Island Women’s Amateur on Davis and Mark Love’s Plantation Course. In keeping with its deep commitment to amateur golf, Sea Island is pleased to host the 6th annual Sea Island Women’s Amateur, drawing 78 of the nation’s top amateur golfers to the world-class setting of Sea Island for 54 holes of stroke play.
The Sea Island Women’s Amateur will host an 18-hole qualifier on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, on the Seaside Course at Sea Island Golf Club. In the 36-player field, we will award three qualifying spots for the 2025 tournament. Ties for the final qualifying will be broken by a hole-by-hole sudden-death playoff immediately following the completion of play. Players must have a Handicap Index of 2.4 or less to be considered.

The Elite Amateur Golf Series has announced the addition of a new series as part of its mission to align the top competitive amateur events in the United States. Five leading women’s amateur events representing over 345 years of conducting championships will form the Women’s Elite Amateur Golf Series (WEAGS) officially launching in the summer of 2024. The Sea Island Women’s Amateur was the first event contested in the series at Sea Island from May 28-31, 2024.
A historic course for a historic resort, Plantation is a classic design that brings back some traditional features and character: bulkheads, railroad ties, the Principal’s Nose on #10 green, a punch bowl green on #13. And a few of Travis’ chocolate drops here and there. Fewer bunkers, a more open feel. Strategically interesting, with a challenging finishing hole. But since this is a course that keeps playability top of mind for all levels, there’s always a way. Along with the neighboring Seaside Course, it is the home of the PGA TOUR’s RSM Classic, a FedEx Cup event hosted by Love.
