Positions

  • Player Shuttle Drivers

    Shift Length: 4-5 Hours

Player shuttle drivers will transport players from the range to their starting holes and provide shuttle service at the turn from Nos. 18 to 1, and from Nos. 9 to 10. They will also transport players from their finishing hole to the scoring area.

  • Practice Range Attendants

    Shift Length: 4 Hours

Practice Range attendants will assist players and their caddies on the Practice Range. Volunteers will be responsible for sorting balls, filling range bags, keeping the Practice Area clean and organized, and assisting the Sea Island Golf Performance Staff with additional duties.

  • Caddie Services

    Shift Length: 3-5 Hours

Caddie services responsibilities include bib distribution on Nos. 1 and 10 in the mornings, and collection of the bibs on Nos. 9 and 18 after play.

  • Walking Scorer

    Shift Length: 4.5-6 Hours

The Walking Scorer role is critical and requires attention to detail, an understanding of the game of golf, and both mental and physical stamina. Scorers accompany a group of up to three players to record scores throughout all 18 holes. Volunteers must be able to keep pace with their group—approximately 5–6 miles or 10,000 steps—in varying weather conditions. A cart will be available if needed. Walking Scorers should also be comfortable using a handheld digital device to record each shot.

Walking Scorer volunteers are required to complete an online training course and attend a one-hour in-person training the weekend prior to tournament week.

  • Ecology and Supply Distribution

    Shift Length: 5 Hours

Ecology and Supply Distribution volunteers are responsible for ensuring drinks and snacks are distributed throughout the course, and for maintaining recycling containers and trash receptacles throughout the tournament grounds. Please note that lifting cases of water is required to service these areas. Volunteers assigned to this committee must be able to lift and move heavy objects.
