Kate & Stephen

What was your favorite memory from your Sea Island Wedding?
It’s really difficult to choose just one memory from our wedding. We laughed, cried and danced with our family and friends all night in the most beautiful location we could have imagined. The tents at the Beach Club knocked our socks off when we first saw them. If we had to pick one memory, it might be just that. Dancing with our loved ones in an amazing setting with amazing food, music and people.

How did you hear about Sea Island?
I have been visiting Sea Island for years and knew after I looked at numerous venues in the area that there was just no comparison. It had to be Sea Island!

If you grew up coming here, what is your favorite past Sea Island memory?
Some of my favorite memories from visiting Sea Island in the past have been hanging out with family at Southern Tide watching football, having a spa day, listening to the bagpiper and having dinner at the Lodge in celebration of many birthdays of mine, and most especially the trips I took down to plan our dream wedding.

What was the inspiration for your décor/theme of your wedding?
I have never been the type to like a lot of pink and sparkles. I knew I wanted a touch of those things here and there, though. I also wanted to incorporate the wine colors as a celebration of the (almost) beginning of my favorite season, Fall. The team at Sea Island did an incredible job of adding just the right amount of sparkle to our reception and did not miss a single detail.

After the wedding was over, were you pleased with the details? How would you describe your experience at Sea Island?
The Sea Island wedding team really sets the bar high. Not a single detail went unnoticed on our wedding day. They made us feel at ease from the very beginning of the planning process. Whether it was picking the menu, deciding on linens and florals, or the nitty gritty such as logistics of the ceremony, they knew exactly how to calm my nerves in a moment of stress and took care of our entire wedding party as well. Everything was exactly how we dreamed it would be and we could not be any happier with our entire experience!
