Kyle & Britta

What was your favorite memory from your Sea Island Wedding?
It is nearly impossible to select one memory from the most amazing week of our lives. We think of the cocktail party under the stars at the Black Banks Terrace on Thursday evening, we think of the special Bridal Party Toast in the Lodge Cellars prior to our Rehearsal Dinner, we think of how absolutely magical the Mizner Ballroom was when it was filled with music and the smiling faces of everyone we love, and we think of the delicious brunch on the Atlantic Ocean at the Cloister Beach Club Sunday morning. So if we had to choose just one we would say dancing, dining, and toasting with the people we love most in this world in the Mizner Ballroom.

How did you hear about Sea Island?
Funny enough, my mom and I had discovered it one night while watching a show on HGTV where a couple was searching for a vacation home. We thought Sea Island looked beautiful, so we had searched where to stay online and found The Cloister. From that moment on, we could not wait to plan a visit.

What was the inspiration for your décor/theme of your wedding?
We wanted a wedding that would feel romantic, fun and slightly eclectic. The wedding design team at Sea Island and the floral team at The Vine knew exactly what we wanted and just how to achieve it. The flowers were exquisitely unusual with soft hues of pale peach and blush, greens, and blues, the tables varied in linens, chargers, and décor as to not feel uniform.

After the wedding was over, were you pleased with the details? How would you describe your experience at Sea Island?
Our experience with Sea Island was nothing short of wonderful, from the very first visit we were welcomed so warmly. The team at Sea Island thought of every single last detail, and through the planning process became friends. I can still remember getting ready in the Bridal Suite the morning of my wedding and seeing Caroline Grogan, our wedding manager, and feeling a wave of comfort and ease of nerves! Our entire wedding week was just the time of our lives and we could not have had that experience any place else.
