In “View From Above,” NASA Astronaut Terry Virts will highlight his experiences as the pilot of the space shuttle Endeavour, as a crew member on Russia’s Soyuz spacecraft and as the commander of the International Space Station. Having spent at least 200 consecutive days in space, he underwent one of the longest continuous missions of any NASA astronaut. In addition to sharing his stories, Virts will showcase his space photography, featuring aerial views of earth and depictions of the vastness of space, which is the main focus of his new National Geographic book, View From Above: An Astronaut Photographs the World. Released last October, the book also includes written accounts of his space travel.
