Rainbow Island
Take a walk on Rainbow Island with a falconer and Harris hawk. Witness the high-flying action first hand as they fly from tree to tree and enjoy the thrill of having a raptor fly to your gloved fist. Offered in early morning, days and times varies based on availability. Length of the program is up to 90 minutes, but may vary based on various conditions.

What can’t you do at Rainbow Island? The home of one of Sea Island’s most beloved outdoor dinner traditions is also your home base for exploring Sea Island’s waterways. Kayak to a beach for a picnic lunch, learn to sail, or take your yoga practice from the mat to the paddleboard. Sign up for a hawk walk, falconry meet and greet, marsh and beach horseback ride, even host a casual private dinner or event. This waterfront location is a short ride or walk from The Cloister, just over the bridge on your left, and is the starting point of many cherished Sea Island memories.

Join a half-day outing and witness nature’s fastest animal, the peregrine falcon, in pursuit of gamebirds and a Harris hawk chasing bobwhite quail and eastern gray squirrels.
Rainbow Island Falconry Meet and Greet at Rainbow Island
Get up close and personal with our raptors, including hawks, falcons, and owls. Meet our resident falconer and learn how Sea Island continues the ancient art of falconry. The raptors do not fly during this program.
