A massive centuries-old live oak frames the view of Cottage 168 as you approach your Sea Island getaway. This plantation style home is entered through a columned portico that leads into a dramatic vaulted foyer flooded with light from walls of windows. Passing through an archway you will notice touches like the blond wood flooring and detailed crown molding that hint at thoughtful details in rooms to come. Immediately to the right is a cozy parlor with a plush couch and a pair of easy chairs perfect for quiet conversation. A view of the paneled den just steps away reveals bold botanical themed wallpaper and informal rattan furnishings situated in front of a fireplace.
Passing through another archway you enter the dining room, with a round table an Edison-bulb chandelier. An alcove window allows in plenty of light and showcases views of the pool and terrace just outside. Close by is the modern wellequipped kitchen with an ocean-blue island complete barstool seating that houses a sleek electric cooktop, oven, and microwave. Pristine white cabinetry and shiplap walls are accented by blue pops of color, and all illuminated by beautiful pendant lighting. A breakfast nook is situated in a sunny alcove looking out at the lawn and live oaks just beyond the windows.
A small bedroom, featuring an upholstered elephant-themed headboard and private bath, is just down a short hallway towards the back of the house. Two additional bedrooms are on the first level with a spacious den between them, with a plush sectional sofa, flat screen television, and small desk.
The first level is completed by a spacious living room at the back of the cottage with twin cream-colored sofas and chairs with a coral motif. Banks of windows and skylights overhead flood the room with natural light.
Two sets of stairways lead to separate bedroom areas upstairs. This added measure of privacy is perfect for families with children. One wing offers a spacious master with bath that adjoins a roomy and light-filled sitting area. Just steps away is a bunkroom with 4 beds. The other wing features both a bedroom and den, plus
another bedroom with 4 additional bunk beds.
