This beautiful gabled cottage with a traditional tile roof is in a lushly landscaped marshside setting. French doors open to reveal an elegantly paneled entry featuring a distinctive bombe chest and a view of the beautifully furnished living area. Burnished hardwood floors, found throughout much of the first floor, are enhanced by a traditional sisal rug with a grouping of wingback chairs and a plushly upholstered couch. The two-story ceiling gives the room a spacious and airy feel while the dual sets of French doors let in plenty of natural light and a view of the pool.

The kitchen, separated from the living area by a long bar, features stainless steel appliances including a four-burner gas range. Plenty of counter and cabinet space complete the room. Open to the kitchen, at the back of the cottage, is the dining alcove which offers an unusual octagonal dining table coupled with traditional Chippendale chairs. Surrounded by bay windows diners can enjoy an impressive view of the back lawn, palm trees, and Spanish-moss-covered live oaks.

Two bedrooms, including the master, are located on the ground level. The master features a king bed and a spacious private den. Plenty of windows give both rooms a bright and cheerful ambiance and each has an en suite bath. The three upstairs bedrooms, each uniquely furnished, share a hall bath. One bedroom features an unusual corner fireplace set in an alcove window.

The expansive screened porch with an outdoor dining table is a popular feature. The white rocking chairs are set on a cool tabby floor and are perfect for relaxing while enjoying the natural surroundings and views of the sparkling saltwater pool. Pool can be heated with advance request prior to arrival and an additional fee.

With its well-appointed furnishings and private saltwater pool, Cottage 397 is ideal for an unforgettable Sea Island experience.
